Consider the Lillies...
The picture to the right is of a species of flower called the Ophrys Stylidium Orchid. The color and texture of one of the petals of this orchid, along with the end of one of the orchid's stamens resembles the appearance of a female wasp of a certain species. This is an interesting flower, because it also releases an aroma that resembles that of the same female wasp when she is looking for a mate. The way that this species of flower is pollinated involves the male wasp of this same species. The male wasp sees and smells the flower, and lands on it with the intention of mating with a female wasp. On the surface of the flower is a trigger which is tripped by the male and the flower reacts in a way that pulls the wasp inside. As the male crawls out of the flower, two sacks of pollen are stuck to his head, which then pollinate the next flower that he tries to mate with.
This flower is not something that is taught about in most school books, because evolutionary thought just can't explain it. One reason it is so complicated for them has to do with the time cycle of this process. The male wasp matures and is ready to mate two weeks before the female wasp does, and at the same time the orchid can only be pollinated during a two week period of the year. As soon as the male wasps find the mature females, they will never return to the flower, so the two week period in which the males are mature and the flowers can pollinate have to coincide every time, or that kind of flower would be extinct in one generation. This gets even more complicated when you realize that there are many different types of these orchids that attract different types of wasps. All of these things had to be the way that they are from the very beginning, or they would not exist today.
In Psalm 8:3-4 David said "When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man that You take thought of Him, and the son of man that you care for him?" The glorious splendor of God's creation and the way that He has worked out all of the minor details just screams out for His glory, yet we as fallen creatures have the tendency to fret over so many meaningless things. Jesus said "Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown in the furnace, will He not much more clothe you?" (Matthew 6:28-30). The things in life that we tend to worry about (money, having a car or a job) all seem so small when you consider the way that God's creation is so detail-oriented, and that he is far more able to meet our needs than we could ever imagine.
